- Experimentation on Media - Hatching Pen
WEEK 1 - 3 ( 24/04/24 - 08/05/24 )
Mr. JR. instructed us to gather A3 paper, a hatching pen, and an illustration board before to our first class. At the beginning of the semester, he gave us a rundown of everything we might expect to learn in this class. He specifically mentioned that we would be drawing a fashion editorial image utilising the "Black & White Avant Garde" theme and a technique called "Hatching" for our first assignment. If you're interested in experimenting with additional dry media strokes, this "angled straight" Hatch approach will provide you a good foundation. After Mr. JR assisted me in selecting a picture for my fashion editorial, I began tracing it on A3 paper in order to begin the technique's trial and error phase.

Our class was moved to Thursday of week 4 due to the public holiday in week 2. I figured I'd keep trying different things since we don't have class today. As this was my first attempt, I practiced by drawing lines on the bar with the drawing pen and then on the image

He saw my doodles and advised me to keep going with the real one on an A3 drawing board. After I finish tracing, I use a lighter and darker sketching pen to create the desired effect. Submission task 1
WEEK 3 - 6 ( 08/05/25 - 29/05/25 ) Due to a national holiday this week, we will have a make-up class in week 6. Our assignments remain same and are as follows, even if there are no classes today. The second assignment, which involves experimenting with other mediums (in this case, colour pencils), is ongoing. Our aim for this project is to use the scrubbing technique with colour pencil. With "Spring & Summer" as our overarching topic, we are to use as our point of departure a variety of fashion editorials from various magazines. After doing some trial and error, I proceeded doing my final Got the approval for the final task Submission task 2 WEEK 6 - 9 ( 29/05/24 - 19/06/24 ) The final assignment for this week is media experimentation with a marker pen, and we must complete that as well. For this task, we are required to produce a fashion illustration using a marker pen and employing the technique of overlapping. For the 'Sports Illustrated' subject, we must select a fashion editorial from a fashion magazine to use as a reference. Got the approval for my trial Submission task 3 WEEK 9 - 14 ( 19/06/24 - 24/07/24 ) Mix Media / Final Garment - Fashion Project 1 (Dry & Wet Media)" is the last assignment, and I'm now working on it as I wrap up the third. As part of this project, we need to draw one last image while referencing one last set of clothes from Final Project 1. Pencil, pastel, charcoal, markers, watercolour, the Pelaka-Flat colouring technique (a mix media technique including dry and wet media), and other previously considered techniques and media are all fair game for our exploration of fashion illustration. We used a fashion editorial image from a magazine as the reference for the position. Then I choose an item of clothing to depict. Self reflection. The assigned modules have been really helpful to me this semester. Included in that category is this fashion drawing unit. After letting a mountain of other work pile up, this class has helped me feel renewed. Various illustration techniques, including hatching and overlaying, were covered in this subject. Beyond that, I am extremely appreciative of the assistance I have had from my professor, Mr. JR, and my friends, who have always been there for me and helped me figure things out when I was stuck. |
